• Consultation with one of our physicians (Reproductive Endocrinologists).
• Follow-up meeting with our physician or our RN coordinators.
• Discussion with our financial counselor either in person or on the phone.

Complimentary Phone Consultation

We understand that treatment for fertility problems can be a complex process. You may not know where to start or whether or not you are a candidate for treatment. You may live out of the area and would like to know if it is possible to arrange treatment at Stanford. If you aren’t sure whether or not fertility treatment at Stanford is appropriate for you, we offer a phone consultation with a physician at no charge. If after the initial phone consultation, you decide that you would like to pursue treatment at Stanford, it will still be necessary to come into our office for an in-person visit and examination before any tests can be ordered by one of our physicians and before treatment can be initiated. So if you are sure that you want to begin evaluation or treatment at Stanford, you will be able to get started more quickly if you start by scheduling an in-person consultation with one of our physicians. However, if you would like to talk with a physician before becoming a patient at Stanford, you may find it helpful to schedule a complimentary phone consultation.

Overview of what to expect as you begin care at Stanford Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center

1. Initial consultation: The purpose of your initial consultation with a physician is to determine if you have any correctable reasons for infertility and to develop an appropriate treatment plan. If you have a partner, it is strongly recommended that both you and your partner attend this consultation.
    
2. Return appointment: After your initial consultation, you will be scheduled for a return appointment. The purpose of this visit is to review results of any tests that were ordered at your initial visit, to finalize the treatment plan based on these results, and to create a calendar that will outline the specific steps of your treatment.
    
3. Treatment: The specifics of your treatment will depend on whether you are doing ovulation induction only, intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization, or surgery. Please peruse our website for specific details on any of these treatment options.
